So, you want to make a Facebook app that taps into the same qualities as WoW? Make it extremely fun to use at first; give users a sense of reward and increasing power/ability; then make the rewards come slower and slower, in less and less value, for the same amount of work. Just like the diminishing returns from a drug addiction… oh, and somehow monetize it.

Facebook is the AOL for web 2.0. Sooner or later people are going to want their own Wall, and in my opinion this is exactly what Twitter is. Twitter is THE wall for people who want more from a wall.

Social media including ustream, Qik, Twitter, Ning, Facebook, and your blog are the MOST important things you can do to grow and market a startup company I’m convinced. Instead of hiring a PR firm I suggest hiring bloggers and social active folks.
